General information

The task of the department is to train specialists in the field of knowledge 07 "Management and administration" specialty 072 "Finance, banking and insurance" by educational levels

• Bachelor of Specialty 072 "Finance, Banking and Insurance" (educational programs "Finance, Banking and Insurance" and "Financial Management");
• Master of Specialty 072 "Finance, Banking and Insurance" (educational program "Finance, Banking and Insurance").

The department trains specialists in financial analysis of the state of economic entities; specialists performing calculations of financial and economic indicators to the financial plans of enterprises and organizations; preparation of financial documents, lease agreements, credit and insurance agreements; management of financial resources of business entities; operations in the financial market; management activities in the field of financial market, finance of enterprises of various organizational and legal forms; management of the team that shapes the financial policy of the enterprise; preparation of proposals for improving the financial results of enterprises.

Perspective jobs for graduates of specialty 072 "Finance, banking and insurance" are: domestic enterprises and enterprises with the participation of foreign capital, branches and representative offices of international companies; financial companies (banks, insurance companies, investment companies, pension funds, etc.); stock exchanges; state bodies of executive and legislative power at all levels; research institutes, educational establishments in economic education, consulting centers.

History of the Department

The Department of Finance and Statistics was founded in 1996. The founder and the first head of the department was PhD in Economics, Professor MKA Bugulov Valeriy Nikolaevich. In 1998 the department was headed by PhD in Economics, Associate Professor, Professor MKA Gridchina Marina Vladimirovna, and since 2001 – Doctor of Economics, Professor, Academician of the Academy of Economic Sciences, Academician of IPA Zahozhay Valeriy Borisovich.

In December 2011, the department was renamed the Department of Finance and Credit, and since September 1, 2016 it was named – Finance, Banking and Insurance.

Since 2017, the Head of the Department is Doctor of Economics, Honored Worker of Education, Professor Datsii Alexander Ivanovich. He is the author of a number of scientific and teaching materials with 20 years of experience in scientific, leadership and teaching. He is the author of more than 240 publications, including monographs, textbooks, manuals, scientific articles and methodological developments.

In 1995 he graduated from the Dnepropetrovsk State Agrarian University with a degree in Accounting and Auditing and obtained a degree in accounting and finance economics.

In 2001 he defended his Ph.D. in agricultural economics and agriculture and received his PhD in Economics.

In 2003 he was conferred the academic title of Associate Professor of the Department of Finance and Accounting.

In 2005 he defended his doctoral dissertation on the specialty of economics and management of scientific and technological progress, on the theme "Efficiency of innovative activity in the agro-industrial complex of Ukraine".

In 2005 he was awarded the academic title of Professor of the Department of Economics of Enterprise.

Since 2016, Datsiy O. works at the Academy in various positions. In 2017 he was elected Head of the Department of Finance, Banking and Insurance of the Educational-Scientific Institute of Management, Economics and Finance.

Scientific interests include theoretical, methodological and practical issues of managing the financial activity of economic entities. Head of research project of the Institute "Problems and Prospects for Development of Industrial and Agricultural Enterprises in Ukraine" (State No. 0207U004302) and Departmental Research Work II.2 29.04 "Ensuring the financial stability of Ukrainian enterprises in crisis".

Chairman of the Specialized Academic Council D 26.142.03 with the right to accept and review the dissertations for the degree of Doctor (Candidate) of Economic Sciences in the specialties 08.00.04 "Economics and Management of Enterprises (by types of economic activity)" and 08.00.05 "Development productive forces and the regional economy. "

The department staff:

The professors’ staff of the Department of Finance, Banking and Insurance is comprised of specialists with rich practical and scientific experience. The department employs 20 lecturers, of whom 2 Doctors in Economics and 13 PhDs in economics (including 4 associate professors).

5 part-timers are also involved in teaching the disciplines, all of them have a PhD in Economics degree.
