OSCE Mission to the IAPM Danubian Branch

Representatives of the Organization for Security and Co-operation in Europe made a presentation to students of the Danubian branch. The guests of Academy:

  • David Millman - Observer for the Special Monitoring Mission in Ukraine;
  • Andre Lorsch - Observer of the Special Monitoring Mission in Ukraine;
  • Natalia Cheshenko - a translator of the Odessa representative office of the Special Monitoring Mission in Ukraine.

Since 2014, the mission is in Ukraine. Andre Lorsch, an observer of the Special Monitoring Mission in Ukraine, who gave a mini-lecture on the purpose and direction of the OSCE's SMM, responded to the question about the establishment of the OSCE and its directions in detail.

Since May 2014, he has been working in Odessa, David Millman - an observer of the Special Monitoring Mission in Ukraine, a citizen of America. He has extensive experience in the mission, namely on reducing tensions and establishing peace and security, on issues of the rights of national minorities and human rights in Ukraine. Representatives meet with different groups of people, leaders of political parties, public organizations, management of border services, ATO participants, and others like that.

Among the questions asked by students to mission representatives were: can graduates of the affiliate settle in the OSCE and build a career, with which purpose representatives of other countries live and work in Ukraine, which aims to monitor court hearings, and so on.

An interesting and informative presentation, responses to questions, mini-speeches by mission representatives and students gave an opportunity to share thoughts and views, to add content to the educational process of students in Izmail. At the end of the meeting a quiz initiated by the guests. The winning team has received prizes and memorable gifts.
