Students of IAPM visited the pearl of Cherkasy region
The other day, students and employees of the Academy visited the National Dendrology Park "Sofiyivka", located in the city of Uman, Cherkasy region.
"Sofiyivka" is a monument of world gardening art of the late XVIII - first half of the XIX century. There are more than 2000 species of trees and shrubs growing there. On tour, students learned about the tycoon Stanislaw Potocki, who in 1796, in honor of the wife of Sofia Pototskaya founded the park. They saw the Three Tears Waterfall, which symbolizes the tortures of Potocki's deceased children.
In their free time young people riding on catamarans and plunged into ancient Greek mythology, swam in the underground river Acheron (in mythology - the river leading into the kingdom of the dead from the kingdom of the living, through which Charon transports the souls of the dead). Students were delighted with the beauty of their home country.
