On July 29-31, a basic training of the Youth Worker Program was held at the New City Hall (Kosovskaya Street, 2D) on the initiative of the Youth Council under the Mayor of Odessa, jointly with the State Institute of Family and Youth Policy. Students from the Odessa Institute Arseniy Gavrilyuk and Polina Likhashev took part in it.

The Youth Worker Program was established in 2014 by the Ministry of Youth and Sports, the State Institute for Family and Youth Policy and the United Nations Development Program.

The purpose of the program is to improve the skills of youth leaders to implement sound youth policy at local and regional levels.

The training was attended by members of the Youth Council under the mayor of Odessa, representatives of youth non-governmental organizations and structural divisions of the Odessa City Council, who will subsequently receive certificates of the established model of successful completion of training.

The program is based on the principles of non-formal education, making it accessible to a wide range of related industries. During the training, participants have the opportunity to represent the work of their organizations, share experiences and find new partners for joint projects.

The participants of the training were able to prove themselves as youth leaders: they expressed their opinions freely, expressed their own point of view, worked well in teams, shared their experiences. According to its participants, the most interesting task of the training was the active involvement of the youth of Odessa - a social survey of the population aged 14-35 years on the development of youth programs of the city and opportunities for their improvement.
