24 January 2018 12:57

Baptism is a holiday that is one of the main things in Christianity. It was and remains one of the most beloved in our country. The date of the celebration is January 19, and on the eve of the believers celebrate the Epiphany (the second holy evening).

It has long been known that John the Baptist baptized the people in Jordan, by calling all to repent and purify the soul from sins. Jesus at the age of 30, being sinless, was the first to receive baptism, thus consecrating the Jordan River. In honor of this event, the feast was called Baptism, and in the people it is called Jordan (Ordan). The same day is remarkable for the Feast of the Epiphany.

Festive Divine Liturgy in the Chapel named after the Holy Equal-to-the-Apostles, Prince Volodymyr, began with the Great Covenant and the Ustrien.

At the time of this service, the rector of the St. Vladimir Temple at the Khmelnytsky Institute of IAPM archpriest Mikhail Ilnitsky during the litas blessed bread, wheat, wine and herbs. In the morning, the anointing of the faithful was performed by the holy oil of Jerusalem. At the end of the Divine Liturgy, there was a great consecration of water. The consecrated water was sprinkled with all the numerous present.

Also, on Sundays and on holidays in St. Volodymyrsky Temple at the Khmelnytsky Institute of the IAPM, parishioners pray for peace in Ukraine, for the health of Ukrainian soldiers who liberate our state from the enemy.
