On October 31, IAPM’s Supervisory Board Chairman George Vasyliovych Shchokin met a delegation of Tehran University led by its Chancellor Farhad Rahbar.

Issues of establishing bilateral cooperation between the two institutions of tertiary education took center stage during the meeting. In the course of an exchange of views, the parties discussed such matters as effective collaboration in the field of scientific research and state-of-the-art educational technology implementation, and organization of student and teacher exchange.

Tehran University Chancellor showed interest in developing cooperation and extended to Supervisory Board Chairman George Shchokin an invitation to visit his establishment and deliver a set of lectures.

The parties expressed their confidence that cooperation between the two higher education establishments – Interregional Academy of Personnel Management and University of Tehran – would further development of the Ukrainian-Iranian relations in the humanitarian area. Tehran University is indeed one of the largest and oldest universities of the country training over 36 thousand students, Iran’s leading educational and scientific and research center, while IAPM is the largest economic and humanities tertiary institution of Ukraine.

The figures who participated in the talks included Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Islamic Republic of Iran to Ukraine Akbar Ghasemi Aliabadi, Tehran University Provost for International Relations Sayed Mohammad Ali Mousavi, Director of the Institute of Advanced Sciences and Technologies Mohammad Kamarei, officers of the Iranian Embassy, Academy Chancellor Anatoliy Mykolaiovych Podoliaka, Secretary of the Supervisory Board Vasyl Hryhorovych Korotkin and Director General of the International Open University Oleksandr Ivanovych Hnedykh.

Our trust is that the agreements negotiated during the meeting will become a solid step toward establishment of long-term and productive educational and scientific cooperation.
