Recognition of the contribution of the Academy in the development of Ukrainian-Japanese cooperation

On August 26th the Academy was visited by the Charity Fund "Ukrainian Order Marine Cross" delegation composed of the Chairman of the Fund, the first Commander-in-chief of fleet of Ukraine Admiral Borys Kozhyn and authorized representative of the Fund in Japan, Mr. Yoshihiko Okabe, professor of Kobe Gakuin University.

The delegation met with Vice-Rector for International Relations, Director General of the International Open University of IAPM Igor Pilyayev.

In a warm and friendly atmosphere honored guests were informed about the history and current status of the Academy, features of training foreign students.

Professor Okabe Yoshyhiko expressed interest in learning abilities of Japanese students at the International preparatory institute of IAPM, given the growing interest in the Land of the Rising Sun on Ukraine, its culture, language and traditions.

  

During the meeting, authorized representative of the Fund in Japan presented the medal "Japan-Ukrainian friendship and cooperation"to Igor Pilyayev. In response Igor Pilyayev noted that he sees this award as a sign of international recognition of the contribution of the Academy in the development of educational, cultural and humanitarian cooperation with Japan and other countries of East Asia, now rapidly developing.

 

The visit was complemented by a tour of the Academy, during which guests visited the International Library and Information Center of Yaroslav the Wise, tele-university, got acquainted with unique cultural attractions of the Academy.

During the visit parties agreed on the further contacts with a view of implementation of joint Ukraine-Japanese projects.
