Over two days (November 4 and 11, 2025), first-year full-time psychology students participated in the “Good Will” project, implemented with the support of the League for Mental Health of the Slovak Republic in Ukraine.

The speaker was Inna Hrosh, a psychologist at the NGO “IPSI” and a graduate of the Psychology program at the Khmelnytskyi Institute of IAPM, presenting as part of the “Good Will” project supported by the League for Mental Health of the Slovak Republic in Ukraine.

The Recovery project is a program designed to support those who help others, helping them restore their own resources and emotional balance. Its goal is to teach self-care, develop supportive skills, and create a safe space for collective recovery. Recovery is based on the principles of hope, choice, meaning, and community support. It is not about “treatment,” but about finding inner strength and a new perspective on life after challenging experiences. Recovery helps participants learn to be present with themselves and with those who need support.

Participants had the opportunity to explore approaches that promote self-care, mutual support, and the creation of a safe environment for shared recovery. An atmosphere of trust, openness, and acceptance facilitated immersion in self-discovery and awareness of personal needs.

Through exercises, group discussions, and reflective practices, students learned to pay attention to their own well-being, recognize their emotions, take care of their mental health, and at the same time remain a resource for supporting others.

Participation in the project provided a valuable experience in personal growth, empathy development, and understanding the importance of self-help in a psychologist’s professional practice. The program helped foster a sense of community, mutual support, and the belief that even after the most difficult events, there is always an opportunity for recovery, growth, and living a life with renewed purpose.
