Interregional Academy of Personnel Management

Legal Awareness Week at the Khmelnytsky Institute of the Interregional Academy of Personnel Management began with a scientific and practical seminar entitled “Respect for Human Rights in the Activities of Law Enforcement Agencies. The Activities of the Human Rights Commissioner,” which took place on October 8. This event, held on the occasion of Lawyer's Day, was an important educational initiative aimed at raising awareness among law students at the Khmelnytsky Institute of the Interregional Academy of Personnel Management.

Specialists from the regional office of the Commissioner in the Khmelnytskyi region, Oksana Sheyhets and Olga Oseredchuk, together with the head of the human rights compliance sector of the Khmelnytskyi District Police Department, Police Major Lyudmila Berestovskaya, held an event for law students at the Khmelnytskyi Institute of the MAUP, during which they told young people about the activities of the Ukrainian Parliament Commissioner for Human Rights and the specifics of human rights compliance in the activities of law enforcement agencies.

The event helped students understand the key functions of the Ombudsman's Office and the mechanisms for protecting the rights and freedoms of citizens, as well as provided information on the practical aspects of the Commissioner's interaction with state authorities, local self-government bodies, and law enforcement agencies.

Such experience deepens the knowledge of young lawyers and shapes their awareness of the importance of human rights activities in their future professional practice. At the end of the event, the staff of the Khmelnytsky Institute of the MAUP were presented with an information stand of the Office of the Ukrainian Parliament Commissioner for Human Rights.
