On October 11, 2024, Svitlana Baranova, a lecturer at the Department of Psychology of the Khmelnytskyi Institute of the IAPM, together with students of the specialty "Psychology" of the Khmelnytskyi Institute of the IAPM, held an open lecture with elements of training "Mental health as a component of a harmonious personality" for members of the local community of Khmelnytskyi.

The event was held on the basis of the "Free" space of the Khmelnytsky City Center for Social Services.

Mental health is the basis for the harmonious development of a personality. A person who is unable to control his emotions or cannot cope with stress often faces difficulties in his personal life, studies and professional activities. The formation of emotional stability and self-regulation skills helps to overcome difficulties and achieve success.

The aim of the event was to raise awareness of the importance of mental health as an integral part of the harmonious development of the individual, as well as to develop self-support skills and develop emotional resilience.

The participants were introduced to the main aspects of mental health, its role in personal growth. Particular attention was paid to how emotional resilience and psychological well-being affect a person’s professional and social life.

The stress factors faced by young people were considered, in particular student life, academic and social challenges, economic instability and the influence of social networks.

Svitlana Baranova presented an overview of modern approaches to supporting mental health, including cognitive-behavioral techniques, relaxation practices and emotional self-regulation.

One of the main parts of the event was training exercises, which allowed participants not only to familiarize themselves with theoretical aspects, but also to apply them in practice. In particular, participants learned to use breathing and relaxation techniques that help reduce anxiety in everyday life; students worked in groups, performing exercises aimed at developing emotional resilience and the ability to adapt to changes and difficult situations; participants analyzed their own emotional reactions and discussed how they can maintain their mental health in everyday activities.

Thus, representatives of the local community of Khmelnytskyi who attended the lecture received useful recommendations for maintaining mental well-being, and also learned techniques that will help them not only in their personal lives, but also in their professional activities as future specialists in the field of psychology.

Thank you to Ms. Svitlana for organizing the event!
