New Research Work in Springer: Rapid Development of Generative Artificial Intelligence by IAPM Professor Yurii Mielkov

21 September 2026 13:42

The academic community of the Interregional Academy of Personnel Management (IAPM) has welcomed a new international publication. IAPM Professor Yurii Mielkov is the author of the research paper “The Place and Role of Humans in the Age of Generative AI,” published by the international academic publisher Springer.

The paper was published on 6 August 2026 and is featured in AI generating New Habits. Critical Reflections, a volume based on the materials of IS4SI 2025. The publication is part of the Studies in Applied Philosophy, Epistemology and Rational Ethics (SAPERE), Volume 81 book series. The researcher’s work focuses on the philosophical, ethical, and social aspects of the development of artificial intelligence and digitalisation.

The publication addresses one of the most relevant topics in contemporary research — the rapid development of generative artificial intelligence and the transformation of the role of humans in the world of emerging technologies.

In “The Place and Role of Humans in the Age of Generative AI,” Professor Yurii Mielkov explores philosophical questions related to the place and role of humans amid the active development of artificial intelligence technologies.

The author examines a context in which artificial intelligence-based systems are increasingly used to process information and perform tasks that were previously considered primarily part of human activity. This raises the question of which characteristics of human thinking and activity remain fundamentally important in the context of technological change.

The research goes beyond assessing the technical capabilities of artificial intelligence. At its centre is the human being as a subject of thinking, moral choice, and evaluation, as well as the nature of interaction between humans and AI technologies.

Another important aspect of the study concerns the capabilities and limitations of contemporary AI systems. The author analyses widespread perceptions of the ability of artificial intelligence to replace humans in various areas of activity and emphasises the need for a critical examination of such predictions.

The paper highlights that AI technologies remain tools with specific limitations. At the same time, their widespread adoption creates new challenges, including those associated with excessive reliance on AI-generated results and the difficulty of maintaining control over their use.

For this reason, the author emphasises the importance of a responsible and critical approach to the use of generative AI, particularly in situations where technological outputs may influence human decision-making.

The publication by the IAPM professor contributes to ongoing research into the interaction between artificial intelligence, education, human competencies, and contemporary culture of thinking.

The new research work by IAPM Professor Yurii Mielkov contributes to contemporary reflection on the development of generative artificial intelligence and the role of humans amid technological transformations.

IAPM congratulates Professor Yurii Mielkov on this international academic publication and wishes him continued research achievements, new scholarly ideas, and successful implementation of his professional projects.
