The Second World War II 1939-1945 was the greatest tragedy of mankind in the twentieth century. Ukrainians made an extremely significant contribution to the victory over Nazism, becoming one of the victorious nations.
75 years separate us from the moment when the whole world rejoiced in the Victory. This day always evokes a feeling of bright joy, boundless pride for our people and bitter sadness at the same time. It embodies heroism, strength of spirit and eternal grief for the millions of people whose lives were taken by war.
On Remembrance and Reconciliation Day, we bow our heads to the heroes' feat for peace, for the opportunity for new generations to enjoy life.
