Students of Chernihiv Institute visited Antony's Caves
On October 3, students of the Chernihiv Institute with the leader of the group Yampolets P. V., in celebration of the 950th anniversary of the Antony Caves, visited a unique underground complex, an outstanding spiritual and historical monument of Chernihiv of the XI—XIX centuries. Nearly ten centuries have passed since its founding, and the curiosity of travelers to Anthony's caves has not waned.
Students passed a large underground labyrinth. Although most of it is closed to tourists, the accessible part is truly impressive. Darkness reigns in the caves and the play of light and shadow create completely unrealistic pictures. The cells dug in the ground, the remains of a monks, the underground temple are impressed.
The oldest cave monastery in Chernihiv impressed students with its structure, history, and legends. Pleasant impressions remained from the content excursion.
