The holiday of the Cathedral of 12 Holy Apostles at the Academy
July 13, Academic Council temple in honor of the saints and glorious Twelve Apostles celebrated Patronal Feast at IAMP. The service was attended by well-known expert in the field of liturgical theology, assistant professor of Ukrainian Orthodoxy and theology IAMP, the abbot of the temple in Jerusalem in honor of the Mother of God, the secretary of the liturgical commission of the Kyiv Diocese – Archpriest Dmitry Garchuk, Priest Peter Tertus, Deacon Alexander Korotun, rector of the IAMP - M. N. Curco; IAMP Vice-rector for scientific and educational work – M. F. Holovaty; Director of the Institute of Law named after Prince Vladimir the Great IAMP - V. Litvinenko; Director of the Institute for International Economics and Finance. Holy Grand Duchess Olga – V. B. Zahozhaj, teachers, students and employees of the Academy.
In his festive sermon archpriest Dionysius Martyshin Professor ICA, rector, Head of Ukrainian Orthodoxy and theology IAMP said:
«Today, in our own academy, in the holy temple we are able to celebrate the saints and glorious apostles join their sacred mission. The holiday itself Cathedral of the Twelve Apostles prompts us to reflect on the principles of the mission of the Holy Orthodox Church in the modern world. Holy Apostles of Christ preached the gospel, the good news that Christ came to earth, was suffering on the cross and rose again for all of us, opened the way for us into the kingdom of God. Lord sanctified our nature, renewed, transformed man, and gave a new breath of life throughout society, the history of mankind. Mission of the Church, which imitates the great heritage of the Holy Apostles, is firstly, to preach the gospel (to proclaim the Word of God), and second, the sacraments of the Church, the Eucharist (to serve the Word of God) and, thirdly, to create works of love and mercy (to embody the love of God). In other words, to put it simply, we preach of Christ, we pray to Christ and to accept His eternal life-giving love of the world. Not coincidentally, in our academy was built a academic temple in honor of the Council of the Twelve Apostles. It is worth noting that the Interregional Academy of Personnel Management is not only engaged in the affairs of education, training, science, as well as a great and sacred thing – Christian education, bringing to every young person the eternal values of Christ the Savior».
