On September 27, 2024, the MAUP Institute in Khmelnytskyi hosted a scientific and practical seminar on “The Method of Biosuggestive Therapy: Theory and Practice” for 1st-4th year bachelor's and master's degree students majoring in psychology. Participants had the opportunity to learn about the theoretical foundations of biosuggestive therapy, which combines methods of psychological influence and suggestion with biological factors to improve the psycho-emotional state of patients.

The method of biosuggestive therapy (BST) is a psychotherapeutic approach that combines elements of suggestion (suggestion) with physiological influences on the body to achieve a therapeutic effect. This method is based on the assumption that a person's mental and physical states are closely related, and influencing one of them can lead to changes in the other. Biosuggestive therapy is used to treat various psychosomatic illnesses, anxiety disorders, depression, and stressful conditions.

The purpose of the event was to raise participants' awareness of biosuggestive therapy methods and develop the practical skills necessary for their effective application.

The objectives and purpose of the training were to familiarize participants with the basics of biosuggestive therapy, its principles and approaches; to develop skills in the application of relaxation, suggestion, and physiological influence techniques; and to help participants understand the psychosomatic links between psychological state and physical health.

The speakers at the seminar were: Volodymyr Prinz, psychiatrist; medical psychologist; psychotherapist; senior specialist in biosuggestive therapy; master of biosuggestive therapy; deputy chairman of the board of the NGO “Institute of Biosuggestive Therapy”; lecturer at the Department of Psychology of the Khmelnytsky Institute of the MAUP; Natalia Chorna, specialist in biosuggestive therapy; head of the Center for Psychosocial Support and Professional Development; candidate of psychological sciences; Maria Yaremchuk, certified biosuggestive therapist; lecturer at the Department of Psychology of the Khmelnytsky Institute of the Interregional Academy of Personnel Management; Ivan Chorny, certified biosuggestive therapist; 4th-year student majoring in Psychology (053) at the Khmelnytsky Institute of the Interregional Academy of Personnel Management.

All speakers provided participants with valuable advice on the use of biosuggestive therapy in various clinical cases and answered questions from students.

The speakers also conducted a biosuggestive therapy session for the seminar participants. Participants were able to experience the impact of suggestive techniques on their psycho-emotional state, which allowed them to better understand the mechanisms of therapy. This practical element of the seminar gave students the opportunity to experience the real work of biosuggestive therapy, contributed to a deeper understanding of its effectiveness, and opened up prospects for further application of the method in professional activities.

The practical part of the seminar allowed students to acquire basic skills in applying this technique in practice. Under the guidance of experienced specialists, they tried to use various techniques of biosuggestive influence, analyzed real clinical cases, which allowed them to gain a deeper understanding of the effectiveness and potential of this approach in psychological work.

The seminar was an important step in the professional development of future psychologists, helping them to familiarize themselves with new therapeutic tools and expand their professional arsenal.

Thus, this method is relevant and effective in modern psychology. Students gained in-depth knowledge of the theoretical aspects of the method and practical skills in its application, which allows them to better prepare for professional activity.

The seminar speakers emphasized the importance of combining psychotherapeutic and biological approaches to achieve maximum therapeutic effect. Thanks to this event, future psychologists expanded their knowledge of modern treatment methods, which will contribute to their professional development and successful application of new techniques in their future work with patients.

We thank the speakers for their cooperation!
