On September 27, 2024, the Khmelnytsky Institute of the MAUP held a scientific and practical seminar with training elements entitled “Rorschach Card Diagnostic Exercise” for second- and third-year full-time bachelor's degree students studying psychology.

The event was held at the Vilna Space. The moderators were: Svitlana Baranova, lecturer at the Department of Psychology of the Khmelnytsky Institute of the MAUP; Antonina Kozak, practical psychologist at the Vilna Space.

The Rorschach method is an important tool in psychodiagnostics and psychological research.

The main goal of the training was to master practical tools for working with the Rorschach test. This is an important method for studying the unconscious aspects of the human psyche, emotional reactions, and personality traits.

The objectives of the training were to enable participants to deepen their knowledge and skills in using this test, develop their expertise, and learn how to effectively use the Rorschach test to create individualized therapy.

During the event, students learned about the history and basics of the Rorschach method. Students studied the principles of projective diagnostics and discussed the purpose and practical value of the test.

Students were asked to analyze the answers of their classmates or prepared cases that included real examples of test interpretations.

Moderators and students analyzed the results together, discussed correct and incorrect interpretations, and drew conclusions about the difficulties and successes in the diagnostic process.

The Rorschach method is a projective test that reveals deep aspects of personality. Students had the opportunity to learn how the interpretation of abstract images can reflect a person's inner world: their anxieties, fears, hidden desires, and personal conflicts. Students also learned to analyze not only the answers themselves, but also the nonverbal behavior and emotional reactions of respondents.

Therefore, this training was important for psychology students: they acquired practical skills in using the Rorschach test, which is an important part of professional training; their knowledge of projective methods and their application in psychological diagnosis was significantly expanded; and the analysis of Rorschach cards contributed to the development of critical thinking and observation skills.

Students also gained a better understanding of the importance of interpersonal dynamics during testing, including how their own expectations and biases can influence diagnostic results.

Participation in the Rorschach Cards training for psychology students was a valuable experience in terms of both theoretical knowledge and practical skills. This practice helps future psychologists better prepare for real diagnostic situations, develops their ability to deeply understand people and their mental state, and contributes to their professional growth.

Thank you to moderators Svitlana and Antonina for their cooperation!
