A scientific seminar was held on the topic "The Third Mission of Universities and Directions of Transformation of Higher Education" (NNIPSN)
On June 26, 2024, a scientific seminar on the topic "The Third Mission of Universities and Directions of Transformation of Higher Education" was held at the Educational and Scientific Institute of Psychology and Social Sciences, which was held by the Department of Philosophy and Social Disciplines. The report on the topic "The Third Mission of Universities - Steps and Responsibilities: The Experience of the University of Genoa" was delivered by the Chief Researcher of the Department of Social and Institutional Transformations in Higher Education of the Institute of Higher Education of the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine Yu. O. Melkov (part-time - Professor of the Department), who presented the results of his study visit to the University of Genoa, which took place in May-June 2024 within the framework of the implementation of the EU Erasmus+ Project "Strengthening Cooperation between Universities and Communities" (UNICOM). In particular, the topic was the phenomenon, tasks and structure of the third mission of universities, the practical implementation of which includes the sphere of interaction of a higher education institution with the community, with enterprises, adult education programs and education for sustainable development, cultural and educational activities, etc. The discussion on the above-mentioned problems was addressed by Prof. M.F. Golovaty, Assoc. Prof. T.V. Nych, Assoc. Prof. I.A. Storozhuk, Prof. M.L. Yakovenko and other participants of the scientific seminar, who discussed the directions of transformation of higher education in today's conditions, ways of implementing students' adaptation to the modern world in the educational process, financial and ethical aspects of the implementation of the "third mission" by universities.
