From November 25 to December 10, the campaign "16 Days Against Violence" is being held around the world to draw attention to the problems of overcoming all forms of violence, including violence in families, child abuse, combating human trafficking and protecting human rights women As a sign of support, people all over the world are tying their clothes with an orange ribbon. It is the official anti-violence color, symbolizing a bright and free future.
On November 27, 2023, the Psychological Service of the Odesa Institute of the MAUP held a seminar on "Violence prevention: from theory to practice."
The seminar was conducted in a remote format by Olena Mykolaivna Balbuza, head of the Psychological Service, senior lecturer of the department of general scientific, social and behavioral disciplines of the Odesa Institute of the MAUP.
During the seminar, Olena Balbuza spoke about the history of the founding of the international action "16 days against violence", types of violence and psychological manifestations of a person affected by violence.
The participants of the seminar considered practical exercises on prevention and providing psychological support to children who have experienced a traumatic upbringing, had the opportunity to work with their own emotional states, replenish resources, and reduce the negative impact of a traumatic situation.
Such practically-oriented classes expand knowledge about the use of modern methods in the field of psychology, support students' motivation for development and contribute to the formation of a culture of self-care among future specialists of the psychological service.
