13 December 2019 15:48

On December 12, 2019, on the eve of the feast of Andrei, Andreev gatherings were held at the Khmelnitsky Institute of IAPM. This event allowed to touch the past, feel the beauty of ancient rituals and take an active part in various competitions.

The holiday was fun with jokes. The main attribute of the parties was the wicket. There were many who wanted to bite the wicket. Both students and teachers joined the Kalita rite. The one who bit the Kalita, Mr. Kalitansky smeared with soot.

Girls, guessing their fate, divined on cherry branches, on various objects, on ribbons, rearranged boots to the threshold, etc.

During the gatherings, the girls treated everyone present with delicious dumplings and pies. Students sang Ukrainian folk songs, actively participated in competitions. All participants of the gatherings could try traditional Ukrainian dishes: dumplings (with cabbage, potatoes), cakes with cherries, compote, etc.

The pleasant atmosphere of the event left good impressions and fond memories of the ancient customs of the celebration of St. Andrew's gatherings.
