The spiritual treasures of Podillia
On October 11-13, 2017, the First International Scientific and Practical Theological and Pedagogical Conference "Spiritual Treasures of Podillya" was held in the city of Bar, dedicated to the 260th anniversary of the Uspensky Cathedral in the city of Bar and the 130th anniversary of the universal church glorification of the Barskoy miraculous icon of the Mother of God. At the conference, the Interregional Academy of Personnel Management (IAPM) was represented by archpriest Dimitry Garchuk, assistant professor of the Department of Ukrainian Orthodoxy and Theology of the IAPM, rector of the Temple in honor of the Jerusalem Icon of the Mother of God in Kyiv, speaking at the theological and pedagogical section of the conference with a presentation on "Missionary Liturgy".
On the first day, the participants of the conference also visited the Barsky District Historical Museum and visited the temporary exhibition of photographs devoted to the construction of the Barskoy Women's Monastery and the transfer of the Barskoy Icon of the Mother of God to the restored abode.
On October 2, the Divine Liturgy was held at the Cathedral of the Assumption, which was performed by the Metropolitan of Vinnitsa and the Bar Simeon in the service of the Metropolitans: Mohyliv-Podilsky and Shargorod Agapit and Pereyaslav-Khmelnitsky and Vyshnevsky Alexander. The liturgy was attended by the dean of the Vinnytsia diocese, the clergy of the Barsky district and the participants of the conference in the holy rank, among them among the invited were the secretary of the Liturgical Commission of the Kyiv diocese of the UOC, Archpriest Dimitri Garchuk.
At the end of the Liturgy, Metropolitan Simeon addressed a welcoming word to those present in the temple.
On October 12, the conference was held in sections. In the work of the theological and pedagogical section metropolitan Mohyliv-Podolsky and Shargorod Agapit participated in the work of the historic section - metropolitans: Vinnitsa and Barys Simeon and Pereyaslav-Khmelnitsky and Vyshnevsky Alexander.
Upon completion of the work in the sections, a plenary meeting took place at the Barsky District Leisure Center. Having completed this full of events, the day was a concert in which the local church choir of the Holy Assumption Cathedral performed, as well as the songs of the priests Agafagel and Nazarii Davydovsky and Rostislav Ryaby.
