The event was held as part of the charity event "Life of the Virgin Mother of Jerusalem preterm infants", which took place with the blessing of the Primate of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church, Metropolitan of Kiev and All Ukraine, Onuphry, in the period from 25 October to 17 November. The aim of the joint is a social project, coming to the Mother of God in Jerusalem, and BF. St.Luke (Vojno-Yasenetsky) was raising funds for the needs of the Neonatological center at "OKHMATDET", workers of which are engaged in caring for premature children, until November 17, the World Day of prematurely born child.

International Day of preterm infants is held in the world for the fifth time. This event is a breakthrough, cayuse premature labor is not an isolated case. Every year about 15000000 babies are born prematurely. Prematurity - one of the main causes of child mortality in the world.

Every year in Ukraine nearly 20 000 children of different gestational age are born. These children are the subject of not only medical attention but also attention of social workers, psychologists, teachers. These children need a multidisciplinary approach.

We emphasize that the Ukrainian Orthodox Church and Chair of theology at IAPM not overlook mercy. In particular, the share of "Mother of Life" for the glory of the Blessed Virgin Mary has become a tool for raising funds for the treatment and improvement of  young patients. As a result, the charity project collected nearly 20093,25 UAH.

The funds will be used to purchase heating humidifier for oxygen therapy, modernization of electroencephalograph and printing brochures with recommendations for parents on prevention of violations of SIDS children and purchasing of medical equipment.
