Interregional Academy of Personnel Management

March 17 Championship on chess among teams of higher education institutions in the program of the IV Student Games of Ukraine in 2016 was held in the Interregional Academy of Personnel Management.

Organizers of the competition: Interregional Academy of Personnel Management and Kiev city branch of the Committee for Physical Education and Sport, Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine.

75 participants representing 13 institutions came to the championship, including: Interregional Academy of Personnel Management, Taras Shevchenko Kiev National University, National Technical University of Ukraine "Kyiv Polytechnic Institute", National Aviation University, National University of "Kyiv-Mohyla Academy" Kyiv National University of construction and architecture, Bogomolets National medical University, Borys Grinchenko Kyiv University, Drahomanov National Pedagogical University and others. Students, graduate students, students of full-time education, as well as graduates of 2015 participated in the championship. The composition of each team consisted of 3 boys and 3 girls according to the regulations.

Chief judge of the competition was a judge of national category, the main specialist of the department of educational and sports activities in universities of the Committee for Physical Education and Sport, Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine, a national referee, Candidate Master of Sports Ivan Zaharchuk.

Team competition was held by the Swiss system with time control of 15 minutes per game. Places occupied by the teams were determined by greatering number of points (win - 2 points for a draw - and one defeat - 0 points).

According to the results of the competition prizes were distributed as follows:

• First place and the main prize recieved the team of Taras Shevchenko National University of Kyiv;
• 2nd place went to the team of National Technical University "Kyiv Polytechnic Institute";
• Third place - to the team of National Aviation University.

The participants thanked the organizers, in particular Interregional Academy of Personnel Management, and expressed hope for holding competitions in future.
