V Sport Chess games among Ukrainian pupils took place in IAPM

From 14 till 17 October in IAPM took place V Sport Chess Games.

Pupils from Vinnytsia, Odesa, Khmelnytsky, Dnipropetrovsk, Ivano-Frankivsk, Poltava, Mykolaiv, Kyiv, Zhytomyr, Cherkasy, Lviv, Chernivtsi and Lugansk regions of Ukraine took part in this intellectual sport.

Competitions were held in accordance to the applicable rules of chess competition   among boys and girls separately, by Swiss group system, it has 7 rounds. Each 10 minutes and 5 seconds starting from the first move are under time control.

All the days of the competition were observed by the judges, how athletes with that kind of intellectual ownership can use various styles of game, show skilled defense, effective attacks and reasonable, balanced exchange of figures.

Last day of competition and price-giving ceremony were October 17.  Young Grandmasters were congratulated today by:

  • acting Chairman of the Committee of Physical Education and Sport Education of Ukraine Viktor Pavlenko;
  • rector of the Interregional Academy of Personnel Mykola Kurko;
  • chief specialist of the Department of Education and Science, Youth and Sports of the Kyiv City State Administration Serhiy Melnyk;
  • chief Specialist of educational and sports activities in Universities Committee for Physical Education and Sport Ministry of Education and Science in Ukraine Ivan Zaharchuk;
  • director of Physical Culture and Sports of IAPM Myron Ilnytskyy;
  • judges - Borys Chernukha and Oleh Horodytski

«Congratulations to all the winners of V Sport Chess games among Ukrainian pupils . There is no matter which place you obtained, because participation in this competition is already a victory, not only yours, but also of your coaches and your parents» – Mykola Kurko pointed in his welcoming speech.

Winners were greeted by Victor Pavlenko as well:

 «You have passed a long way to get this victory. I want to express special thanks to the parents who brought you to the sections of chess, and helped you to embody in the most intellectual sport!»

Students from Vinnytsya region demonstrated their great quality in game, and eventually took first team place. Second place was taken by the team from Odesa. Third place was shared by intellectuals from Kyiv and Zhytomyr.

All winners and awardees of the competition were decorated with cups, medals and diplomas. Rector of the Academy also awarded the coach, Igor Varytski, of Dnipropetrovsk region with a diploma and presented him a book by Jan Dymov "The voice hoursens from the pain" about outstanding Ukrainian wrestler winners.
Myron Ilnytskyy greeted the coach, Nikolai Bondar, of the winners from Vinnytsia region, presented him a book "Pandoras reverberation-mourning" by Mykola Shudrya and Vasyl Nechepa.
