Celebration of the 1030th anniversary of the baptism of Kievan Rus in the Khmelnytsky Institute
On July 28, the collective of the Khmelnytsky Institute of the IAPM and members of the Chapel of the Holy Apostles Prince Volodymyr celebrated the celebration of Volodymyr the Great and the 1030th anniversary of the Baptism of Kyiv Rus.
This holiday is not only a historical event of past years, but also the mercy of God for all the parishioners of our Temple. So, of course, this holiday is celebrated with special celebrations. The festive Divine Liturgy was performed by clerics: Archbishop Michael Illnitsky, Archpriest Ivan Rurich, Mikhail Nyzhnik, Ivan Chupil. After the Divine Liturgy, they sent a grateful prayer service with a procession along the Temple. After that all the present were sprinkled with holy water and treated with sweets.
Those who wished to go through the territory of the Temple and the Institute, learn a lot about the history of its construction and call the bells.
There was also a memorial service for the repose of His Beatitude Metropolitan Volodymyr, who in 2005 consecrated the Chapel of the Holy Apostles Prince Volodymyr, whose name is Khmelnitsky Institute.
The Khmelnitsky Institute was named after the Blessed Volodymyr, Metropolitan of Kiev and All Ukraine. The Metropolitan was known in the world by a talented church figure, a teacher, a scientist, a man of high culture, a multifaceted spiritual giftedness. We always remember the life feat of Metropolitan Volodymyr. We recall our teacher, who taught us not only by word, but by his own work and example. In the Khmelnytsky Institute of the IAPM the museum of the memory of Metropolitan Volodymyr successfully operates, the Department of Ukrainian Orthodoxy and Theology was created.
On July 28 in Ukraine one of the most significant dates in the history of Ukraine is celebrated - the Day of Baptism of Kyiv Rus-Ukraine. The holiday was set on the day of the memory of Saint Equal-to-the-Apostles Prince Volodymyr. The decree of President Viktor Yushchenko of July 25, 2008, "On the Day of the Baptism of Kyiv Rus-Ukraine" emphasized that it is Ukraine that is the successor to the historical traditions of Kievan Rus. The Lord sent the prince of Volodymyr to Kievan land, who played an important role in the history of Kievan Rus. Thanks to Vladimir we found faith in the True God, became Orthodox Christians.
