Celebrations are continued throughout the week, including 20 and 21 March - the day of the vernal equinox. On the eve of the holiday, according to tradition, wheat and lentils is sown on large plates. In the early days of the holiday green shoots should appear, which symbolize the beginning of a new annual cycle. These sprouts are the main decoration of the celebration.

By long-standing tradition in the evening of last Tuesday IAPM students from Azerbaijan and Iran shared their customs and attract professionals and students of the Academy to the celebrations. Among the guests of the festival were: Director of the Institute of International Education Svetlana Kosareva; IMO Dean Marina Serednyak; leading specialist of housing students and educational work Alina Chernysheva and students from other countries.

"Every year on the last Tuesday on the eve of Novruz people take part in a traditional rite of purification by fire. Azerbaijan and Iran people gather in the streets and alleys, to sing songs and jump over the fire. This means that a man gives all diseases and problems of the past year to the fire and is supplied with energy for new beginnings", - said Svetlana Kosareva.

At the celebration students spoke about the peculiarities of kindling fires: in the evening each family lights as many torches, how many members there are of the family. Being away from their families, foreign students find their second family is the Academy, so at night they lit lights along with teachers. According to custom, each has to jump through a burning fire, while making wishes. After the fire went out, all the collected ash was poured on the road.
