Celebration of St. Tatiana Day in Severodonetsk
Student Day is inextricably linked with Tatiana's day. However, this is the same holiday, because the patroness of all students is holy Tatiana, whose name in Greek means "who arranges".
As legends say, the holiday of Martyr Tatiana is celebrated over 235 years. According to the East Slavic tradition, on this day people lit candles, asked the Martyr Tatiana of education, success in school. The very same Holy Tatiana knew how to combine active, creed with humanism and love to all people. Previously, people thought that a woman who was born on this day will be a good housewife. Today in this day people congratulate not only the students, but also all the beautiful female representatives who wear such a beautiful name - Tatiana.
January 24 to 34th Sunday after Pentecost, on the Epiphany, Reverend Nicodemus, Archbishop of Severodonetsk and Starobelsk, held the Divine Liturgy in Holy Cross Church of the village Lisna Dacha.
His Eminence was joined by: Secretary of the Diocese Archimandrite Irinarkh (Timchuk), Archpriest George Dubovik and clergy of the church.
At the end Bishop addressed the faithful word of edification, congratulated everybody for the Day of Remembrance of the Holy Martyr Tatiana, who is worshiped in this church especially, as part of her fair body was laid in the basis of Holy Cross Church July 28, 1998; as well as services to the Church gave church awards benefactors and active parishioners.
Bishop also received congratulations from representatives of Severodonetsk Institute of IAPM, who noted:
"At all times, students were special people, a little adventurous, cheerful and carefree, but a lover of knowledge, which gives great hope! How many great men were once students, so why won't be found among you those, who once will make a great discovery, make the world brighter and better? Happy Students Day! Be a little harder, and you will succeed, because our future is in your hands".
