In IAPM ended Ukrainian Open Chess competition

The Interregional Academy of Personnel Management ended the Open championship of Ukraine among the teams of youth sports schools and specialized youth sports school of Olympic reserve in chess, which took place from 16 to 18 December.

The organizers of the competition were the Committee of Physical Education and Sport Ministry of Education and Science, Department of Education and Science, Youth and Sports of  Kyiv city state administration and Interregional Academy of Personnel Management.

On the first day of competition the championship was inaugurated in the Concert Hall "Ukraine". Participants and guests of the competition solemnly welcomed the Chief Justice Ivan Zakharchuk, Vice-Rector for Scientific and educational work of IAPM Mykola Holovaty and Director of the Department of Physical Culture and Sports at IAPM Miron Ilnitsky. At the opening ceremony of the championship talented stars of IAPM and educational complex "Prestige" congratulated chess players with the beginning of championship and inspired them with their performances for future victory.

"The main goal of this competition is popularization of  the game, involvement of young people to active chess studies and participation in competitions on chess, identifying talented young players in Ukraine and improving their skills," - said Ivan Zakharchuk.

In black-and-white battles participated 6 strongest teams from all over Ukraine:

    • Team of higher vocational school number 25 in Kiev;
    • Team junior sports school of nMirgorod;
    • The national team of Kremennaya;
    • The team of economic and legal college IAPM at Kiev;
    • Team junior sports school № 3 of Ivano-Frankivsk;
    • Team teenage sports club "Brigantine", Kiev.

Within three days teams competed in the composition of 3 +1 (three boys and one girl). Winners were determined in 5 rounds. The structure of the Jury includes:

    1. Head Judge Ivan Zakharchuk - chief specialist of educational and sports activities of the Committee of Physical Education and Sport Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine, national referee, candidate for master of sports;
    2. Anatoly Kabanov - the judge of the 2nd category, candidate for master of sports;
    3. Edward Gelfand - national referee, Honored Worker of Physical Culture and Sports of Ukraine;
    4. Anatoly Rybchenko - judge of the 1st category.

"Competitions are held according to the Swiss system, 5 rounds in a chess discipline - it is a classic game. Time control for the competition - 60 minutes for each participant before the end of the party. Expectations at the opponent's delay - 30 minutes. Pairing teams carried out on the typed command points: 2 points for a win, 1 point for a draw, 0 points for a loss. Competitions are held in accordance with the rules of sports competitions in chess, "- said Edward Gelfand.

During the championship participants successfully demonstrated their skills. Fight for the top places was quite hard, but interesting.

December 18, the official closing ceremony and announcement of the winners was held. At the awards ceremony, among the invited guests there was Deputy Director of the Department of Education and Science, Youth and Sports, Head of Family, Youth and Sports of the KSCA Alexei Trofimov. He congratulated all the participants and stressed the importance of training in chess, noting that it affected the success of chess erudition and personality. Therefore, results of the competition prizes of the Open championship of Ukraine among the teams of youth sports schools and specialized youth sports school of Olympic reserve Chess distributed as follows:

I place got the team of junior sports school from Mirgorod;

II place got the team of junior sports school № 3 from Ivano-Frankivsk;

III place got the team from Kreminna.

Winners received cups, medals, cash awards and certificates for discounts on education in Interregional Academy of Personnel Management.

"The first place winners received certificates at a discount of 30% for the entire period of study in IAPM, for the second place - 20% for the third place - 10%. Also, we presented certificates with a 5% discount on tuition at the Academy to the all participants, "- said Miron Ilnitsky.

The winners: Roman Yaremenko, Stanislav Vasilev, Vlada Savitskaya and Aleksandr Krivko!
