On the occasion of Remembrance Day students of IAPM visited Kiev Liberation Museum

May 11, on the occasion of the Day of Remembrance and Reconciliation and the Victory Day over Nazism in World War II AIDP students visited the National Museum "Battle for Kyiv in 1943» which is located on the territory of Lyutezhsky springboard, on the outskirts of the village Petrivtsi, Vyshgorod district of Kyiv region.

At the beginning of the tour students got familiarized with the exposition of the Diorama "Battle for Kyiv. Lyutezhsky 1943 bridgehead". All of them could see the play of events of autumn 1943 in the halls of the museum and diorama on the canvas. IAPM students learned about the crossing of the Dnieper, creation of Lyutezhsky springboard during the Battle of Kiev. The most touching exhibits for visitors to tour began thousands of photos and documents of the heroes of the Second World War.

Students also visited area of ​​8 hectares, which saved 650 meters of communication trenches and dugouts. They saw command and observation posts of commander of the 1st Ukrainian Front, General of the Army Nikolai Vatutin, commander of the 38th Army K. Moskalenko, a member of the Front Military Council, Lieutenant-General Khrushchev and Commander Third Guards Tank Army, P. Rybalko.

"Excursions to historical sites is important for students, because their main purpose is to nurture love for the native land, its history, restoration and preservation of historical memory. Moreover, such events contribute to the students' patriotism, cultural education, courageous and spiritually developed person", - said Head of extracurricular activities of IAPM Valentina Slisarenko.
