Department of Psychologyis a graduate department of the Educational and Scientific Institute of Psychology and Social Sciences and trains applicants for the first (bachelor's), second (master's) and third (educational and scientific) levels of higher education in the specialty C4 "Psychology". The department's activities are aimed at ensuring the quality of higher education in accordance with the standards of higher education of Ukraine, the requirements of the National Agency for Higher Education, ESG and the principles of academic integrity.

Department Missionof psychology is to train highly qualified specialists in the field of psychology, capable of responsible professional activity, scientific research and continuous professional development, taking into account modern social challenges, labor market needs and employer requests. The department ensures the formation of personal and professional, research, ethical and practical competencies of higher education applicants.
Department Visionof psychology is a modern academic center of psychological education and science, integrated into the national and international educational and scientific space, which combines education, science and practice, forms the professional identity of a psychologist capable of working in conditions of uncertainty, crises and social transformations, and contributes to the development of a culture of mental health and psychological care in society.
Development strategyof the Department of Psychology is implemented through ensuring the quality and systematic updating of educational programs, implementing competency-based and practice-oriented approaches, strengthening the practical orientation of training, developing research activities and human resources potential, as well as active interaction with stakeholders, employers, students and graduates.
The educational process at the Department of Psychology is being implementedin the form of lectures, seminars, practical classes and trainings using modern interactive teaching methods (discussions, case methods, group work, practical modeling of professional activity) and aimed at achieving program learning outcomes and developing the ability for independent professional thinking.
Practical training and professional orientationapplicants are provided by completing internships in specialized institutions in Kyiv, involving applicants in the activities of the Center for Psychological Counseling and Psychocorrection, as well as forming skills in practical psychological work in accordance with the ethical standards of the profession. At the same time, the department actively develops student scientific activity, scientific circles operate, and scientific events are held, which contributes to the formation of research competencies and academic culture of applicants for higher education.

Since 2021, scientific and pedagogical workers of the Department of Psychology have been conducting research on the topic: "Socio-psychological support for maintaining the mental health of an individual in the conditions of societal transformation". The purpose of the research is to determine the features of socio-psychological support for maintaining the mental health of an individual in the conditions of societal transformation and to develop appropriate technologies of psychotherapeutic and advisory assistance on their basis. Since 2022 - on the topic: "Transformational processes of development and formation of an individual in crisis situations: modern psychosocial dimensions", the relevance of which is due to the fact that a life crisis is determined by both life circumstances, the social situation, and internal personal conflict.
