Department of National Security
The department was founded on September 2, 2019
Head of the Department:
Sergiy Gordienko
Doctor of Law, Associate Professor.
From 1983 to 2009 he served in the state security agencies. Since September 2009 engaged in scientific and pedagogical activities
The results of his research are: 7 monographs, 4 textbooks, 42 scientific articles in professional journals and appearances in 62 scientific forums.
The range of scientific interests are the questions of scientific and technical expert evaluation of the value of information with different types of restrictions and the development of its protection and protection system (confidential information, banking and trade secrets, intellectual property, know-how, business, industrial, commercial, trade secrets).
Deputy Head of the Department:
Yuri Tymoshenko
Candidate of Law, Associate Professor.
He has been engaged in scientific and pedagogical activity since 2002. From 1995 to 2019 he worked in law enforcement. He is the author of more than 60 scientific and educational works.
Scientific interests: securing the rights and legitimate interests of participants in criminal proceedings, theory of judicial evidence, peculiarities of investigating crimes against the bases of national security.
Teaching staff of the department:
Mykola Strelbitsky
Doctor of Law, Professor.
From 1974 to 2006 he served in the state security agencies. For more than 20 years he worked as the Vice-Rector of the National Academy of the Security Council of Ukraine, and then - the chief scientific officer of the scientific-organizational centre of the Security Service of Ukraine.
Sphere of scientific interests: state, social administration, management of operative - service activity, personnel management, national, state security, anti - corruption activity.
He has published more than 200 scientific works, including 2 textbooks on the psychology of management and management of operational activity, 17 textbooks, 7 monographs.
Vasyl Omelchuk
Doctor of Law, Professor.
He served in the military counterintelligence agencies from 1972 to 2009. Since 2002 he has been engaged in scientific and pedagogical activity.
Scientific interests: human rights and freedoms; theoretical and legal problems of building a democratic, social, rule of law and civil society in Ukraine; ensuring national and state security; social and legal protection; presidential and parliamentary oversight of law enforcement agencies and special services; law in the context of globalization; legal analysis and forecasting of social processes, etc.
He is the author and co-author of over 120 published scientific works.
The department provides teaching in more than 20 disciplines.

- State policy of defence of Ukraine.
- Modern problems of combating terrorism.
- State policy and mechanism for ensuring economic security.

- State response to threats to political security.
- National Emergency Management.
- Ukraine in the international security system.
- Biosafety.
- Organizational and legal principles of ensuring the safety of enterprises, institutions and organizations.
- Management of the activities of national security entities.
Scientific and methodological work of the department:
Scientific work is one of the main activities of the entire teaching staff of the Department of National Security.
The main forms of scientific work of the department are:
- conducting scientific research on current areas of specialty disciplines and problems that meet the profile of the department;
- preparation of monographs, textbooks, textbooks, scientific articles, reports on the main academic disciplines of the department;
- preparation of candidate and doctoral theses;
- reviewing and reviewing dissertations submitted for defence;
- organization and management of student research work and others.
At the end of a separate stage of research, analytical reports, working materials and current reports are prepared, and at the end of the whole research - summary reports, suggestions, methodological recommendations, monographs, textbooks, manuals, etc.
Scientific work of students is carried out in scientific circles and problem groups and is drawn up in the form of abstracts, scientific messages, theses, articles, scientific papers recommended by the department for participation in competitions, Olympiads of academic, interuniversity, republican or other level.
The research work of the teachers of the department covers the following areas:
