Education Programme on Climate
Each year, in August–September, the Interregional Academy of Personnel Management (IAPM) conducts the Education Program on Climate.
This annual local education program is designed for students, teachers of local schools and colleges, administrators, and professionals who encounter climate-related issues in their work. It also welcomes civic activists who, recognizing emerging climate and socio-economic challenges, aim to align their values, commitments, and professional development with the principles of sustainability. This program explores the key aspects of climate-related topics, focusing in particular on climate change risks, impacts, mitigation, adaptation, impact reduction, and early warning systems.
The program positions itself as a local climate education initiative that connects organizations (associations, companies), students, and local communities engaged in — or aspiring to engage in — environmental and social transition. It serves as a platform for dialogue and collaboration among all participants in the ecological transition and the social and solidarity economy. The program includes round tables bringing together experts and activists from different levels who address climate change challenges.
Researchers, climate change specialists from other universities, representatives of government agencies, and environmental NGOs are also invited to participate.
The Education Program on Climate is worth 7 ECTS credits.
Teaching Staff
The program is delivered by:
- Researchers from the Research Center for Environmental Safety and Sustainable Development;
- Lecturers from the Institute of Management, Economics and Business;
- Lecturers from the Institute of Medical and Pharmaceutical Sciences;
- Experts from national and international environmental organizations.
Program Objectives
The program aims to provide participants with theoretical knowledge on climate change impacts, mitigation, and adaptation — including disaster planning — and to develop practical skills for designing and justifying proposals on the rational use of natural and anthropogenic ecosystems.
