The Department of Finance, Banking and Insurance provides higher education training within field of knowledge D “Business, Administration and Law” under specialty D2 “Finance, Banking, Insurance and Stock Market” at the first (Bachelor’s), second (Master’s), and third (educational and scientific) levels of higher education.

The Department delivers the following courses: “Finance”, “Introduction to the Specialty ‘Finance, Banking, Insurance and Stock Market’”, “Money and Credit”, “Banking System”, “Investment”, “Corporate Finance”, “Project Finance”, “Financial Services Market”, “Statistics”, “Insurance Management”, “Insurance”, “Corporate Finance”, “Financial Analysis”, “Financial Management”, “Financial Market”, “Pricing”, “Financial Activity of Business Entities”, “Currency Regulation”, “International Investment Activity”, “Monetary and Credit Systems of Foreign Countries”, and others.

The Department provides training for specialists capable of carrying out economic and financial analysis of business entities, calculating financial and economic indicators, developing financial plans, substantiating managerial decisions, preparing financial documents as well as credit, lease, and insurance agreements, managing financial resources of enterprises and organizations, performing professional activities in the financial market, and developing proposals to improve the efficiency of business entities.

Graduates of specialty D2 “Finance, Banking, Insurance and Stock Market” may work at domestic enterprises and enterprises with foreign capital, branches and representative offices of international companies, financial institutions, including banks, insurance and investment companies, pension funds, stock exchanges, public authorities and local self-government bodies, research institutions, educational institutions, consulting and analytical centers.

Specialty D2 “Finance, Banking, Insurance and Stock Market” is one of the leading specialties in the field of economics. Training under this specialty is aimed at developing in students modern economic thinking, solid knowledge in finance, banking, insurance, and the financial market, as well as practical skills in analysis, forecasting, and making sound professional decisions.

Specialists trained in this specialty are prepared for economic, organizational and managerial, analytical, auditing, and research activities in the field of public finance, within the banking system, at enterprises of various forms of ownership, in insurance companies, investment funds and companies, brokerage structures, financial and economic divisions of enterprises, institutions and organizations, as well as in research institutions.

The main goal of the Department is to train highly qualified specialists capable of working effectively in the fields of economics, finance, banking, insurance, and the financial market, applying modern methods of analysis and management, and adapting to current challenges of economic development.

The object of graduates’ professional activity includes economic and financial systems, mechanisms of their functioning and development, processes taking place in the financial market, the activities of financial intermediaries, as well as the financial and economic support of business entities.

The main areas of the Department’s research activity include modernization of the mechanisms for the formation and use of financial resources by the state, business entities, and the population.
